On September 10, 2026, an XZH Test field engineering team completed a low-voltage cable fault detection service at a residential community in Thailand, successfully locating and verifying a Phase B ground fault on an approximately 250-meter buried armored cable within a single working day.
The community’s low-voltage distribution cable—a five-core armored type—runs underground at a depth of less than one meter between the first floor of Block 5 and the local transformer. Earlier work at the site had left the cable ends in a dismantled state, and the route was only broadly known, setting up a demanding underground fault location task.

Located beside an active railway corridor, the site saw frequent passing trains that produced strong acoustic noise—an environment that significantly complicates pinpointing work. By applying the acoustic-magnetic method carefully and verifying the signal repeatedly, the team was able to separate the genuine discharge signal from the background noise and confirm the fault position.
Following excavation and high-voltage verification, the fault point was confirmed. The discharge discoloration found on the armoring at the damaged section matched the located position, validating the measurement. The successful result enabled the community to plan a targeted repair rather than a full cable replacement, saving both time and cost.
